Teen RAVES Program
2017

Erin Cash again delivered a relevant hands on program that strengthened our students’ resilience and provided them with the practical advice and skills necessary to develop and maintain healthy relationships.  This course supports their learning in class and is extremely worthwhile: I know that the students really valued this opportunity and learnt a lot.

ASPLEY SHS Grade 8 CAMP TEENS RAVES PROGRAM
April 2015

It was well paced and tremendously well presented. Some highlights that I particularly enjoyed include;
- The opening relaxation techniques (A couple of the normally over-animated boys in my Year 8 Form class literally fell asleep)
- The interesting philosophy about the needs of young women to respect and support other females
- The encouragement to the students to exercise and volunteer in their community
- The statistics on offences to girls
- The techniques for self-defence
Erin's good humour, awesome connection with youth culture and sensitivity when needed, truly inspired and educated me. In fact I would say the program felt like a 'gift' that I would recommend as a PD for teachers or for more of our students to enjoy. As a mother and grandmother, I would truly be happy to pay to have had my daughter or grand daughter do this course.

ZONTA PINE RIVERS RECOMMENDATION FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INTERVENTION FOR TEENS

Our club first learned about the RAVES Personal Safety System in August 2010 when Ms Erin Cash presented a demonstration of her work at one of our monthly meetings.  Upon realizing the impact this RAVES program could have on preventing domestic violence from a young age we knew it would become one of the most important projects we could endeavour to endorse in the local community.

Ms Cash’s former vocation as an ex-riot squad police officer stood her in a perfect position to pass on expert training and knowledge around the topic of self-defence and promoting self-awareness.  After watching the program presented to Year 9 students at Pine Rivers State High our belief was confirmed that the project played a pivotal role in meeting one of the key objectives of our club and, indeed, of the local Moreton Bay Regional Council - the prevention of violence against women and girls.

The program teaches personal safety, educates around the topic of bullying and promotes self-awareness and resilience providing young adults with the tools to approach life with strength, compassion and a sense of respect.

The Zonta Club of Pine Rivers thoroughly endorses such an empowering curriculum and strongly recommends any school or organisation with the capacity to bring this program to the fore to do so with the full force of their abilities.  The benefits for the future of our young people and the wider community are definitely worth the effort.

PERSONALISED SELF DEFENCE FOR MUMS AND TEENS
NOV 2010

We wanted to thank you for today's workshop - Lucy and I learned a lot.

]I particularly wanted to say how much your genuine concern for our well-being and safety came across, as well as your intelligence and enthusiasm for living life well. It was very kind to offer yourself as a contact on our "hand" of support.
with kind regards,
Margie Barram, Brisbane.

PS My friend, Sharon, her daughter, Gemma, was attacked on the bikeway, when all those attacks were happening. She kicked him - and he ran away.... So I aiming for the same response from Lucy now, after your good training!

RAVES SELF DEFENCE FOR WOMEN AND TEENS
July 2014

If you have been thinking about a one off Self Defence class for you or your teenage daughter I would HIGHLY recommend this session.

Erin is an absolute gem of a woman and you couldn't want anyone better to equip you and your daughters/mothers/neices/friends with the basic self defence skills needed in the current day & age. I can speak from experience after taking Tayler & I along to a class in the past. Best money I spent and I intend to do a refesher again soon.

Click through to Erin's bio in the menu if you want some of her backgroud as she also couldn't be better qualified. Guaranteed you will walk out a more confident & powerful woman.

ASPLEY SHS Grade 8 CAMP TEENS RAVES PROGRAM

[The RAVES program was] wonderful.... It was so powerful, so important, and a real confidence booster for those girls. I would value working with RAVE again. It was the highlight of the Year 8 Sleepover.

SELF DEFENCE AND RESILIENCE PROGRAM Oct 2014

Teachers and students alike thought the RAVE program was fantastic.  One of our teachers thought it was so good that he mentioned it to his wife who is a school-based nurse and her school is going to run it.  She also mentioned it to one of her colleagues and now another school is going to run it too!  I think that’s testament enough to what a good program it is.

GYMNASTICS QUEENSLAND NATIONAL CONFERENCE "Coaching Challenging Teens"
Jan 2015

I think the seminar that you presented was just fantastic and so enlightening and I could have (if I had forever) listened to you the whole day.  I... assist(ed) you in keeping track of the Tabata Timer (so awesome, thank you for that opportunity) for the example of giving the more troublesome kiddies more involvement in the class to bring their 'behaviour' under control.... (and) as a means of more responsibility.
- I would like to know more from a PT side of things, your knowledge was so great, like I said, I could have sat there all day listening to you.

QUEENSLAND POLICE WAG LUNCHTIME INFO SESSION:
'WHY DIETS AND GYMS ARE MAKING US FAT'
2010

THANK YOU so much for the information session during lunch today – I, personally, absolutely loved it!  I was literally absorbed and holding onto each and every word you said.  Your examples and backing up with historical data reinstalled my beliefs.  I still find you inspirational.  I can so easily listen to you present all day, without a lie, plus I find such topics inspirational.

A couple of the ladies spoke to me just after you left and mentioned how they enjoyed the session too!  One said they found it very informative, another commented about how you easily included humour to maintain interest.

PINE RIVERS SHS PERSONAL PROTECTION PROGRAM FOR TEEN GIRLS AND BOYS
Nov 2013

The Personal Safety session was fantastic: an amazing instructor who made the girls feel important and "worth saving"; a multitude of skills about safety were taught which the girls should remember for the rest of their lives; the girls really looked empowered and more confident by this session; and they had fun!

TESTIMONIALS BRISBANE ESSENTIALLY FOR WOMEN CONFERENCE MARCH 08

“I am still blown out of the water with your presentation at Essentially for Women you were fantastic and the information you gave us was invaluable – you were dynamite.”
Deborah Beer, Coomera Waters Qld

“Then It happened I fell totally in love with the next speaker ERIN CASH yes if I was gay I would be chasing her around and yes probably stalking her hee hee hee!!! (evil witch laugh).  This 34 year old 5 ft size 6 with muscles bulging out ever where came on the stage and you know she was crrraaazzzzyyyyy.  She was leaping around like a thunder bird she was telling a story about internal organs and had a different voice for the 8 organs she was talking about.  She reminded me of the energizer bunny just not as furry.  Yes yet again another aha moment if anyone knows me they would know that I’m a little different maybe a little strange on a good way.  Here I was watching this unusual person in front of me and I looked around the audience and they were besotted as I was.  Gee people love people who are just themselves, no airs or graces, just being me is enough.”
kymsday.blog.com NSW

“I absolutely love your DVD, I have tried many and yours is the first one that I HAVE stuck to for more than a week and I actually look forward to doing it, so you have done a fantastic job.  I can’t wait  until you bring out the one with the healthy dinner ideas after we do a workout I think that would be awesome…. I have to say that you have done a fabulous job and you sure will be making a difference in so many other peoples lives I’m sure.”
